EEA-ESEM 2018 will take place at the campus of the University of Cologne. Founded in 1388, the University of Cologne is among the oldest universities in Europe. And as of today, it is one of the largest universities in Germany. It is not only old and big, however. It has also been distinguished for its academic excellence in Germany’s excellence initiative. The Center for Social and Economic Behaviour , with a focus on Behavioural Economics and Economic Design, is one of the key profile areas of the University. In addition, the Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences has a distinct research area on Markets and Governments that comprises research in Macroeconomics, Public Economics and Political Economy, and on Regulation and Industrial Organisation.
